Children's Flu Vaccine (Nasal Spray)



The children's flu vaccine (Nasal Spray) helps protect against flu. It is being offered by the practice to children aged 2 to 3 years and children with certain long-term health conditions.

Important: Confirmed Egg Allergy

If your child has a confirmed allergy to eggs please contact the surgery to arrange a telephone consultation with our practice nurses, prior to booking their appointment for a flu vaccine.

 When will I receive my child's invite?

If your child is 2 to 3 years of age or has a long-term health condition, you will receive an invite from the practice, to book in for their Flu vaccine (Nasal Spray) via SMS text or letter. 

School-aged children (Reception to Year 11)
- Most school-aged children (Reception to Year 11) get their flu vaccine at school. You should get an invitation from the school your child attends. If you have received a invite from the practice, but your child has had their flu vaccine at school please inform us.
Information:

If your child is unwell on the day of their appointment, for the flu vaccine. Please advise the practice as soon as possible, so that we can cancel and re-schedule this appointment for you.

Important: Consent

Children who are brought to their appointment with an adult who is not their Parent / Legal Guardian must bring with them written / signed consent from their Parent / Legal Guardian. If written consent is not brought, our nursing team will attempt to contact the Parent / Legal Guardian via telephone. A failure to obtain written / verbal consent may result in the appointment being cancelled and re-scheduled.
